Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Coupe "Uhlenhaut" 1956 from Maisto. A very well done miniature, with lots of details but some small problems. The paint job is good, but there are some areas where the junctions of the mold were not properly smoothed out, showing through the paint. The headlights have plastic lens, but they're holded in place by a small shaft that goes to the reflectors behind them. The front blinkers are also made with plastic lenses, but the rears ones (as the tail lights) are only painted. The exhaust pipes come out in the middle of the passenger's side of the car, and are hollow. All four wheels are suspended and the tires are marked.

Doors open up in "seagull" style, and you can also open the front hood and trunk. The hood comes with a small shaft to keep it proped open, but at least in my car I can keep the hood open without the shaft.

The eight cylinder engine is well done, being plumbed and wired. It's disposed longitudinally and in the front of the engine you can see the huge inboard front brakes. The engine recieved some paint details, so it has a real aspect. The interior is also well done, with a readble instrument cluster and a stearing wheel that resembles well the wood of the original car. All the interior is red, including the inside of the doors, emulating the original's red leather.

A very interesting detail are the seats, which are covered in a checkered cloth. The trunk is very small, as in the 1:1 car.

The undercarriage is flat and with almost no details, as in most of Maisto's cars. What really bothers me are the mold defects. You can see some ugly breaches between the doors and the chassis, and the same happens with the windshields. The doors close properly, but there's those gaps around them. Overall, it's a very good model for it's price range, with some problems but a must have if you are into vintage cars.
